ABOUT

The author Pierre Lotu was a true world traveler. Everything he saw and came across, he used as inspiration for his novels. Curator silent film of the Eye Filmmuseum Elif Rongen - Kaynakçi has compiled a miraculus program of films from Eye's vast collection of many places the Loti visited. We travel through Istanbul, West-Afrika and see Japanese culture from the beginning of the last century, while Elif tells the fascinating stories behind these films. This program not only stands beautifully on its own as a trip around the world, it is also the perfect introduction to programm 11: THE FISHERMEN OF ICELAND, based on a novel by Roti.
